OBDeleven 2 (NextGen) vs. OBDeleven 3: Which one's better?

We just introduced OBDeleven 3 – our most powerful creation yet.

So, let’s get into the key differences between OBDeleven 2 (NextGen) and OBDeleven 3 (and touch OBDeleven 1 (FirstGen) just to have the whole context) to help you decide.  

OBDeleven 1 (FirstGen) was our original device, designed specifically for Volkswagen Group (VAG) vehicles. 

 

It supported advanced diagnostics, VAG coding & adaptations, and One-Click Apps for Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda, Seat/CUPRA, Lamborghini, and Bentley.

OBDeleven 2 (NextGen) expanded beyond VAG vehicles, receiving official licenses from BMW and Toyota Groups. This marked a major step forward, bringing advanced diagnostics and customization options to a wider range of car brands: all Volkswagen Group vehicles, BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce, Toyota, and Lexus.

OBDeleven 3 took it a step further. We received an official license from Ford Group and made advanced diagnostics and customizations available for this brand’s US-made models. 

 

The key distinction? OBDeleven 3’s hardware is designed to be compatible with all car brands we’ll add in the future. That makes the third-generation device owners (only!) ready for all upcoming future upgrades and new car brands.

Truth be told, OBDeleven 1 wasn’t very versatile, as it was focused on VAG drivers only. Hence, the OBDeleven VAG app. But only Android if you’re using OBDeleven 1.  

 

With OBDeleven 2 and more car brands, we developed a new app that wasn’t limited to VAG vehicles, but to all of them – OBDeleven app.  

 

Naturally, we added iOS support for both apps, so drivers could diagnose and customize their cars with any smartphone they prefer. 

 

 

We upgraded the Bluetooth module for faster pairing and better connectivity. Plus, built on the success of OBDeleven 2, included more diagnostic interfaces and a better CPU for faster and more accurate scans. 

 

OBDeleven 3 can also detect ignition without any extra steps, plus it features a smart sleep mode so you can leave it plugged in 24/7 without worrying about draining your car’s battery.  

 

And more, you no longer risk losing this pocket-sized device somewhere between the seats or leaving it at home and not having it when you need it most. You’ll never be caught off guard – warning light on the dash, solution in your pocket, instantly.

So, what were once PRO VAG and ULTIMATE VAG are now simply PRO and ULTIMATE. The plans are now available for all officially licensed brands: Volkswagen Group, BMW Group, Toyota Group, and US-manufactured Ford Group cars.
