SEMA SHOW 2025: how the biggest week in car culture went for OBDeleven
What's common between OBDeleven and Las Vegas? SEMA.
Officially, SEMA stands for the Specialty Equipment Market Association. Unofficially, it’s where car culture shows off at its highest level. Once a year, Las Vegas turns into a universe built around passion, horsepower, creativity, and noise – and this year, our team got to be a small part of it.
For OBDeleven, it was four days of meeting drivers, partners, and journalists – and showing what our device can actually do.
If you landed here by accident: OBDeleven is a compact device and app that lets everyday drivers and enthusiasts run diagnostics and unlock hidden features in their cars – without bulky equipment.
Here’s how SEMA 2025 looked from our side, and what it means for you as a driver or workshop.
The show around us: builds, noise, and names
First, the scale. It’s hard to grasp SEMA until you’re actually inside – 4.5 million square feet of cars, parts, tools, tech, demos, and noise. Four massive halls (West, North, Central, South) plus a huge outdoor area, all packed so tightly that not a single corner feels empty.
From new product showcases to education sessions, drift zones, and rows of custom builds, the whole place stays alive for four straight days.
Moving from one hall to another takes time – and truly comfortable shoes. And a map is highly recommended.
Even while we focused on our OBDeleven stand, we couldn’t ignore what was happening around us. Hoonigan burnouts, full–lock drifting, Nitro Circus–style stunts, horsepower rodeo – all in one place. Influencers, creators, photographers – the entire automotive internet.
We’re talking big names like Mario Andretti, Tony Stewart, Lia Block, Jay Leno, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias with his custom VW Bus, motorsport shooter Larry Chen, and Sung Kang were in the house.
The spectacular cars of SEMA
Second, the cars. Lifted trucks that look like skyscrapers on wheels. JDM builds. Stance cars. Polished American muscle. Wild concepts. And one-off creations that stretch the definition of what’s possible.
Did we have favorites? Of course. Could we count them? Not a chance. By the end of day one, the list was already out of control.
But, of course, SEMA isn’t only about the machines - it’s also about the people who live this stuff daily. From car lovers who grew up memorizing “Fast & Furious” lines, to engineers speaking in protocols and modules, or builders who flew in from across the world, everyone there shares one thing: passion for cars.
Bringing OBDeleven to life on a car simulator
For OBDeleven, SEMA was a chance to meet the people who use our tool every day. Some visitors stopped by to show what they’ve coded or unlocked. Others came out of curiosity looking for new ways to customize their cars.
Also, our technical data analysts and embedded software engineers ran live demos on a custom-built car simulator at our booth.
They walked visitors through how OBDeleven connects to ECU modules, how to customize your car with coding and One-Click Apps, and how to identify faults and potential issues from a technical perspective.
While part of the team was at SEMA, our B2B team was next door at AAPEX (Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo).
There, they reconnected with existing clients and distributors, met new automotive business owners, and explored how OBDeleven can simplify workshop workflows and create new business opportunities.

What we brought back for OBDeleven users
We didn’t just leave with sore feet and a full camera roll. We left with a clearer picture of what drivers and professionals want from OBDeleven next.
What we heard most often:
- “Give us more coding options for my specific car.”
- “Make it even clearer how to change settings.”
- “Keep expanding support to more brands and models.”
What this means for you:
- More ideas for new One-Click apps.
- Better explanations and guidance inside the app.
- A stronger roadmap for adding new platforms and markets.
If you’re using OBDeleven today, much of what happened at SEMA and AAPEX will eventually show up in your app as new features and upgrades.
Looking ahead to SEMA 2026
SEMA is loud, busy, and a bit overwhelming – in a good way. For us, it was the perfect backdrop to talk with people who care about cars as much as we do.
We’re grateful we got to be part of it. And we’re already thinking about how to show up with even more value for drivers, workshops, and partners at the next one.
SEMA 2026? We’re already counting the days.
