OBDeleven car scanner works with all car brands with the CAN-bus protocol (manufactured mainly from 2008). This OBD2 reader is officially licensed by Volkswagen Group (VAG), BMW Group, and Toyota Group – thus offering broader functionality for these models.

The PRO VAG and ULTIMATE VAG plans are exclusively for Volkswagen Group (VAG) vehicle owners. If you own a VAG vehicle, the plan you choose depends on the features you’ll use. 

 

If you're going to use more advanced VAG coding features, you'll need a PRO VAG or ULTIMATE VAG plan. PRO VAG unlocks coding and adaptations, while ULTIMATE VAG includes all PRO VAG plus allows you to access unlimited free One-Click Apps or even build your own – just keep in mind programming expertise is required.  

 

Diagnostics is available with a FREE plan that comes with every OBDeleven NextGen car diagnostic tool.  

One-Click Apps are our ready-made coding options designed to adjust, turn on, or disable car safety, comfort, and driving features with just a single click. No manual coding required. 

 

You can activate One-Click Apps with Credits – our in-app currency. If you are a Volkswagen Group (VAG) vehicle owner and have the ULTIMATE VAG plan – you can access unlimited One-Click Apps for free, so no Credits are required. 

 

One-Click Apps are currently available for Volkswagen Group, BMW Group, and Toyota Group vehicles. Different options are offered depending on your vehicle equipment – see them here. 

OBDeleven is being developed together with car manufacturers and their technical support to achieve the best performance. Thus, we have to comply with different diagnostics licensing policies of different car manufacturers.

 

While some brands offer worldwide coverage with a single entity (like Volkswagen Group), others require to sign with individual country representatives, which takes time to achieve. As a result, available features might depend on your country. Find a complete list here.

Vehicle Diagnostic Protection (also known as SFD – Schutz Fahrzeug Diagnose) is an additional security layer that requires authorization between the vehicle and manufacturer.

 

It's been introduced by Volkswagen AG to help protect vehicle owners from fraud by providing information on who and when has made modifications to their vehicles. SFD restricts functions like adaptations, coding, and parametrizations.

 

This protection applies to the models manufactured from 2020 with the MQB Evo (e.g., VW Golf 8, Škoda Octavia IV, Seat Leon IV, Audi A3 8Y, Q4) and MEB (e.g., VW ID.3, ID.4, Škoda Enyaq) platforms.

 

The control units protected by SFD include Engine Electronics, Central Electrics, Instrument Cluster, Gateway Electrics, Multimedia Unit, and more.

 

 

We've created an SFD auto-unlock feature to simplify the use of SFD protection, or, in other words – make SFD protection nearly invisible. If SFD auto-unlock is turned on and you try to change long coding, adaptation, or use One-Click Apps in a locked control unit, the OBDeleven VAG app will automatically request the SFD token from Volkswagen servers, unlock the control unit, and apply the changes you want.
