What is Soundaktor?

Soundaktor  (German for "sound actuator") is a vehicle audio system that simulates engine noise in the cabin of VAG group vehicles. It dwells on a speaker mounted on the firewall between the engine and the cabin. This feature adds noise to the cabin to replicate the driving experience of older vehicles with lower levels of sound insulation. It was introduced in 2012 in some of the VAG group car models.

How to on/off or adjust Soundaktor?

To make changes to Soundaktor using OBDeleven device on your VW, Audi, Skoda, or Seat you have three options:

  1. OBDeleven PRO VERSION allows users to activate the feature via manual programming. You can access vehicle computers, control units, and process required code changes. This requires additional automotive knowledge.
  2. OBDeleven One-Click applications allow users to perform the same action without any professional knowledge, they already contain all the code. These ready-made applications can easily activate or adjust various features of your car. Just turn it on or off. Check the video below for the full guide.
  3. The third option allows you only to turn on or turn off soundaktor, disabling or enabling it is quite simple. There's a plug located right in front of the windshield, underneath the black plastic guard. Just be aware that an error will appear in the structure borne sound control unit.

Soundaktor application is supported on:

Audi (A1, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q3, Q5, Q7, TT)
